Michael J. Rizzo: “Ethical Business Practices: It is possible to serve both God and money.”Mike Rizzo is a seminarian for the Diocese of Orange studying at Mt. Angel Seminary in Oregon. He is currently assigned as a Pastoral Intern at St. Pius V Church in Buena Park. In August, he expects to return to Mt. Angel to begin his third year of Theology studies.
From 2010 until 2014, Mike was General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer at ALEKS Corporation in Irvine, California. ALEKS, now a division of McGraw Hill Education, develops and sells educational software. Prior to joining ALEKS, Mike was an Executive Vice President at U.S. Bank where he held various executive, management, and legal positions over a 22 year career. At one point, he managed three lending units with nearly $8 Billion in assets and 750 employees. He began his career in 1984 as an associate at a large New York City law firm.
Mike was married in 1985 to his wife, Rosemary, who passed away in February, 2012. Their son, John, was born in 1993 and is currently an Engineer at Boeing in Huntington Beach.
Mike was born in New York City. He received his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and his law degree from The University of Michigan Law School.
